Sherman Haggerty co-founded Altus Energy Incorporated, a solar energy marketing company focused on commercial solar hot water systems in 2008.   Altus Energy partnered with Schucco of Germany, an international marketer of solar equipment and Beutler Heating and Air Conditioning of Sacramento as a co-marketer and installation firm immediately after the company was founded.  In the process of pursuing unique solutions to a very difficult commercial lending environment Sherman also co founded Innovate Ventures LLC in 2009.

Sherman's professional background includes two years as President of Altus Energy.  During this period, he was responsible for all operations of the company including formation of strategic partnerships, sales and marketing and organizational development. Prior to that Sherman spent thirty years as a Real Estate Executive with US Home Corporation and Lennar Corporation after Lennar acquired US Home in 2000.   From 1994 until 2006 Sherman served as Division President for US Home in Sacramento.  In 2006 he became the Regional Vice President for Lennar Operations in the Sacramento area, responsible for all ongoing operations including land acquisition, development and homebuilding operations. Lennar, Sacramento total sales volume eclipsed 1 billion dollars in 2006.   He retired from this position in March of 2007 but stayed with the firm as a paid consultant until January of 2008. 

Sherman's professional affiliations include the following:  He has been a member of the Building Industry Association as a corporate representative or as an individual since 1981.  From 1996 until 2001 Sherman served on the Board of the Building Industry Association in Sacramento and was the President of that Association in the year 2000.  Sherman also joined the Board of Directors of the Sacramento Chapter of Volunteers of America in 2004, a national charitable organization serving the needs of the homeless.  During 2010 he is serving as the Vice Chair of this Board. Sherman's education includes a Masters of Business Administration from the Peter F. Drucker Graduate Management Center at the Claremont Graduate School in Claremont California.

Sherman currently lives in El Dorado Hills, California with his wife Rita.  They have been residents of the Sacramento region since 1994.

Larry is a graduate of Biola University, with a B.S. in Business.  He is licensed in Life, Health, Long-Term Care, Variable Life and Annuities, and Series 6 (Investment Company Products/Variable Contracts Limited Representative,) Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law Exam,) Series 7 (General Securities Representative) and Series 66 (Uniform Combined State Law Exam) securities licenses.  He is a Court of the Table and Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table, as well as a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting, the Sacramento Area Commerce and Trade Organization and Western Pension Benefits.

Larry's community service has included serving as a worship band leader at church singing and playing the guitar; with past community service on the Sacramento Cabinet of William Jessup University in Rocklin, CA, the boards of Bayside Life Church and First Covenant Church Sacramento, to SACTO(Sacramento Area Commerce & Trade Organization), and through Active 20/30 Club Sacramento #1.  Larry resides in Sacramento, Californa with his wife Leslie, their sons Parker and Sheldon, and daughter Violet.

John Porter: Principal, Innovate Ventures, LLC

John Porter became a Principal in Innovate Ventures, LLC in 2010.  He has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from California State University, Sacramento, and has over twenty years of technical electronic sales experience.  John launched his electronics sales career in distribution with Anthem Electronics, which was later purchased by Arrow Electronics.  John was instrumental in winning large distribution contracts, notably Packard Bell/NEC.  After six years with the company, John pursued an opportunity with Bell Microproducts and remained there for three years.  In 1999, John joined LORDSco, Inc. (a manufacturer’s representative in electronics) as a field sales representative and purchased the company in 2004.  John’s primary sales focus includes sales of both established technologies and  new power saving technologies for industrial applications in the western states.
